Singapore, 16 April 2024 – Epson, a global leader in professional printing, announced the launch of its newest EcoTank printers – L11050, M1050, and M2050. The latest models are an enhancement of Epson’s existing EcoTank printers, specifically designed for faster printing, better durability, improved print quality, and ease of use.

According to IDC Worldwide Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker, the printer market in 2023 in Asia-Pacific grew by 13.8% year-on-year (YoY). As printer demand rises in the region, there is a growing need for advanced products that boost productivity and environmental sustainability.

Epson’s trio of cutting-edge printers are tailored to meet the diverse needs of today’s offices. Firstly, the Epson L11050 is a colour printer which redefines high-volume A3 office printing. This innovative cartridge-free inkjet printer offers wireless and mobile printing, making it an ideal choice for modern offices. Additionally, its compact design, which is 40% smaller than its predecessor, ensures a space-saving and user-friendly solution.

Meanwhile, the Epson M1050 and M2050 are two of the most affordable Single-Function Peripheral (SFP) and Multi-Function Peripheral (MFP) printers in the EcoTank monochrome printer lineup. These printers come equipped with Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, making them ideal for medium-sized offices. They deliver high-quality printing at faster speeds, meeting the demands of businesses seeking efficient, cost-effective solutions.

The key features and benefits of the new EcoTank printers include:

Fast Print Speeds

  • The Epson L11050 model now comes with a faster printing speed at 8 images per minute (ipm) and 3.0ipm for A4 and A3 colour printing, respectively.
  • Additionally, both Epson M1050 and M2050 deliver high-speed printing at 18.0ipm, enabling users to print effortlessly while saving time.

Direct Printing from Personal Devices

  • It is now easier and more convenient for users to print directly from mobiles, tablets and laptops using any of these new EcoTank printers.
  • All three models come with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct which allows users to directly send documents to print from smart devices using the Epson Smart Panel app.
  • Besides Wi-Fi, both Epson M1050 and M2050 also come with USB and Ethernet connectivity. Specifically for the M2050 model, it also comes with AirPrint™ and Mopria® Print Service, which allows users to print wirelessly from iPads and iPhones as well as any Android devices, respectively, without the need to install additional software.

Greater Functionality

  • The Epson M1050 and M2050 models are equipped with rear paper feeders that can load up to 100-pages.
  • The M2050 printer also allows users to scan and copy documents conveniently without opening the printer flatbed.
  • Additionally, its Auto Document Feeder (ADF) can load up to 30 sheets of A4 or 10 sheets of legal size documents.

Minimal Maintenance

  • The Epson printers are equipped with Epson PrecisionCore Printhead, minimising heat damage and making it much more reliable and durable. Made from ceramic, Epson’s PrecisionCore elements are heat resistant and can be used throughout the product life. The Epson PrecisionCore Printhead also uses pressure to eject ink and ensures no degradation is caused by friction and heat, making it more durable.
  • The Epson Smart Panel will also help users monitor printer status, ink levels and waste ink levels in the maintenance box, which enables them to perform printer maintenance such as printhead cleaning.
  • All three models allow for easy replacement of maintenance boxes by users directly, eliminating the need to manually send the device to customer service centres. Additionally, in the case of the Epson L11050, the pickup rollers are also easily replaceable.
  • For the M1050 and M2050 models, the large capacity of ink tanks allows users to print up to 6,000 pages, saving time and costs as it reduces the number of refills. It also comes with a spill-free bottle design and a designated individual nozzle.
  • Additionally, the printers come with a 4-year warranty, providing peace of mind for users.

 Reducing Environmental Impact

  • Powered by Heat-Free Technology, all three new models of EcoTank printers do not require heat in the ink ejection process. With this technology, EcoTank users are able to save up to 85% less power consumption1, 85% less CO2 generated2, and 59% less replacement parts in comparison to laser printers3.
  • Additionally, the M1050 and M2050 models are packaged in 80% recycled cardboard. The M1050 and M2050 are also built from recycled plastic for the main unit, with a plastic ratio of up to 20% and up to 10%, respectively.
  • It also uses 64% less consumables4 compared to existing ink cartridges models.

Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing, Epson Singapore shared, “At Epson, continuous innovation is at the core of our commitment to delivering advanced and sustainable solutions. Our latest EcoTank printers are tailor-made for small and medium-sized business users seeking low-maintenance, high-quality printing, and energy efficiency.
