Epson introduces EH-LS650B to transform home entertainment experience

Singapore, 14 March 2024 – Epson, the No.1 selling projector manufacturer worldwide1, today introduces a new home projector to Singapore – the Epson EpiqVision Ultra EH-LS650B.

Available in sleek black, the Epson EH-LS650B, is set to transform the home entertainment experience by supersizing your favourite films, games and sporting events at home.

As more people adopt streaming services, they are seeking exceptional viewing experiences from the comfort of their own home. One report estimates that home entertainment devices across ASEAN will increase from 7.3% in 2023 to 20.7% by 2028, reaching a staggering 38.7 million users in the region. Rather than opting for costlier TVs, today’s home projectors can deliver cinematic picture quality and the flexibility to turn rooms into multi-functional spaces that can accommodate a workout or family movie night. As TV and online entertainment trends continue to shape the market, projectors are expanding the boundaries of what people can achieve with home entertainment.

Immersive Entertainment

To address the spike in demand for home entertainment devices, Epson’s latest home projector, EH-LS650B, aims to deliver immersive experiences for viewers with amazing 4K PRO-UHD2 picture quality, suitable for watching movies, TV shows and even gaming. Additionally, the projector has the capability to deliver incredible detail and clarity without sacrificing picture brightness. It comes with Epson’s proprietary advanced 3-chip 3LCD technology that delivers 3,600 lumens of equal colour and white brightness to produce crisp, clear and colourful images, even in brightly lit environments.

Ultra-short Throw Feature for Space-Efficient Design

The EH-LS650B is perfect for the living room. With its ultra-short throw design and throw ratio of 0.25, the projector only needs to be placed a mere 39.6cm away from the wall to create a 120” projection. This means the projector can be easily placed on the TV console for easy viewing while providing a larger-than-life display size of up to 120″. This makes it ideal for creating a big screen home theatre environment without the complexity of installation, cabling and mounting. Weighing only at 7.2kg, the projector is also portable in comparison to panel displays and is able to transform any room into a home theatre setting.

Enhanced Audio Options

Expertly engineered with sound and performance in mind, the projector features a sleek, modern exterior with a metallic speaker grille for enhanced acoustics. The Epson EH-LS650B projector also comes with a built-in 2.1-channel virtual surround system designed by Yamaha, exclusively for Epson. This creates an immersive sound performance with presets for TV, Sports, Movies and Music. Users can also connect their smartphone via Bluetooth® to use as a standalone speaker.

For those looking to conveniently switch audio between the projector’s built-in speakers and other external audio devices, they can use one of the HDMI® ports that include eARC support. This enables audio formats like Dolby Atmos® or DTS5 to be seamlessly transmitted to compatible AV receivers or soundbars while producing high quality audio.

Smart TV Capability

The projectors also feature built-in Android TV and Chromecast, enabling viewers to watch their favourite streaming3 channels including Amazon Prime Video®, Disney+, HBO®, YouTube and more. Users can even stream live TV with apps like YouTube TV using the latest Android TV® interface and a simple-to-use remote that includes voice search and a built-in Google Assistant.

Hassle-Free Setup

Available for both iOS® and Android devices, the Epson Setting Assistant app4 makes it easy to set up the projector and adjust display size in seconds. Users can easily enjoy clear projection on both plain white walls as well as Epson dedicated screens including the ELPSC36 Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screen. The app also detects unevenness on the surface of the wall and automatically corrects distortion of projected images to ensure picture perfect viewing experience.

Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing, Epson Singapore, said, “From movies to big sporting events – the Epson EH-LS650B is an ideal device to deliver an immersive experience for everyone. With cutting-edge technology, including 4K PRO-UHD and advanced 3LCD technology, Epson is able to take the home theatre experience to a whole new level in a convenient and hassle-free manner. As demand for home projects soars, we’re excited to continue innovating and making everyday entertainment epic for our customers.”
